FearMiner 1.24.0 Actual
Changes
- --solo takes another node only as --solo=HOST[:PORT]. --solo alone is still the node on this machine; --solo vrl1... is now the flag plus the wallet. Scripts that wrote --solo HOST must write --solo=HOST.
- One rule for a pool beside --solo: -o POOL --solo on one command line is refused (E202) unless POOL is a loopback address. Between the configuration file, the environment and the command line, the higher-ranked source wins; service install writes only the side that wins and says which key it left out. A settings file with both url and solo is refused at start.
- --benchmark shows each card's figures in the unit its engine declares for people (Vearl: tiles/s beside sigma/s), with the energy per unit. An engine that declares none prints as before.

- The anonymous telemetry also sends the referral code given with --ref (field referral, null without one), so a referrer can see how many rigs use the code on each algorithm. fearminer telemetry show prints it; no other setting's value is sent.

- --solo [NODE]: solo mining on your own node, for an algorithm whose engine has the solo option (Vearl, engine 0.0.4). --solo alone is the node on this machine (127.0.0.1:9000), --solo HOST[:PORT] another one. The pool is then the engine's local work. Blocks pay the wallet; the dev fee is mined on the terms' pool, as in pool mode. Also FEARMINER_SOLO and solo in the [pool] section of the configuration file.

- --list-algorithms, its --json output and the window's algorithm picker show the fee rate a run charges, not the engine index's ceiling. The --json output keeps fee_bps, now that rate, and adds fee_ceiling_bps.
Fixes
- TLS certificate checks: rustls-webpki and webpki-roots updated, so certificate chains through the distrusted emSign intermediates are refused (RUSTSEC-2026-0381, RUSTSEC-2026-0382).

- Mining sheets carry extra arguments: a cockpit sheet can now set the miner's own options for the rigs it is applied to (extra_args), such as the engine options. A TensorCash sheet can choose its model this way (--engine-opt model=27b). The sheet's options win over the rig's own; the wallet, the pools and the algorithm stay the sheet's fields, and options that touch privileges, trust or updates are refused.
- The rig reports the sheet's extra arguments in its status (mining.extra_args), so the cockpit knows it reads them.

- Report hardware-control permissions before the cockpit enables overclock settings.
- Detect missing, unauthorized or outdated Linux GPU helpers without prompting or changing GPU settings.
Notes
- Mining still runs as your normal user. Hardware controls remain optional.
- Restart FearMiner after installing or authorizing the helper. Existing GPU-capable helpers remain compatible.
- Individual settings still depend on the GPU and driver. Platforms without a permission check report that limitation explicitly.

New
- Per-card tuning measurements: record hashrate, core and memory clocks, power, temperature, fan speed and physical device identity together. Saved benchmark runs retain their engine, driver, warmup, measurement interval and applied OC settings.
- Cockpit benchmark comparison: compare runs for the same card and algorithm, inspect synchronized curves, export JSON or CSV, and use measured operating points in the profitability calculator. Rig charts can compare up to eight rigs with matching algorithms and units.
- Independent GPU and CPU mining on Linux: assign supported devices to separate mining profiles, with signed pause, resume, restart and coin changes for each assignment. Each GPU has one owner and each assignment keeps its own history and logs.
- On-rig energy schedules: set power budgets and electricity prices by time period, with timezone support and a simulation mode. Unknown consumption requires a measured or explicit estimate, and schedules preserve manual pauses.
- Optional Linux GPU controls through the privileged helper: the miner continues running as the user while supported NVIDIA power, clock and fan operations are validated and read back. The website now explains the separate optional setup at https://fearminer.com/docs/#hardware-controls.
- Per-device history and live miner logs in the cockpit, with GPU utilization and read-only AMD/Intel sensor inventory when Linux drivers expose it. Unavailable readings remain unknown.
Fixes
- Preserve completed benchmark work across sensor startup and engine shutdown. Chart buckets weight rates by elapsed time while raw exports retain the original samples.
- Keep physical-card and algorithm context when querying history, changing profiles or replaying benchmark OC settings.
- Reap Linux miner descendants before handing hardware to another assignment or restoring GPU settings. Recorded settings are restored after normal stops and supervised crashes.
- Bound and page benchmark reports, device lists and encrypted resource replies so larger fleets remain readable without weakening existing relay quotas or command validation.
Notes
- Independent assignments require Linux and the supervisor. Existing rigs remain readable, and new cockpit controls appear only when the runtime advertises support.
- GPU controls are optional and remain subject to driver support. An existing root-owned helper is not replaced by the unprivileged updater; update it from the matching verified Linux archive using the website guide.
- AMD/Intel sensor inventory is read-only; it does not enable mining on those adapters.

Fixes
- Explicit command-line mining options now take priority over saved cockpit profiles. Selecting Pearl with its pool and wallet no longer resumes a previous coin's mining configuration.
- Command-line sessions keep their mining selection through reloads and supervisor restarts. Pending profiles and new cockpit mining sheets cannot replace that selection.
- Dry-run and configuration checks now resolve the same mining profile as a real start.
- Update Rustls and Quinn protocol dependencies to their patched versions.
Notes
- Saved cockpit profiles are preserved. Start without explicit mining options to use them again; services started from a configuration file retain cockpit control.
